Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, today called on the 1.5 million faithful of the Archdiocese of Newark to join a national effort by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and dioceses across the country to urge members of Congress to secure legislative protection for Dreamers, the nearly 2 million young people across the country affected by the potential ending of the executive branch protection called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Tobin, C.Ss.R., the Archbishop of Newark, will deliver a special Lenten reflection at the Saint Walburga Monastery of the Benedictine Sisters of Elizabeth on Sunday, February 25, as part of the celebration of the community’s 150 years of service to and among the people of Elizabeth.

The Archdiocese of Newark has a long tradition of honoring with a special liturgy those couples in the Archdiocese celebrating 5, 25 or 50 years or more of Christian Marriage. These annual liturgies take place in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the mother church of the Archdiocese.

The Catholic Men’s Commission is celebrating its tenth annual Men’s Conference on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Seton Hall University. The daylong prayerful event is expected to attract thousands of attendees seeking to strengthen their spiritual faith, and engage in fellowship. All men from the Archdiocese of Newark, as well as neighboring Dioceses, are invited to attend.
