Scout
honors
BY
ROBERT DYLAK
Hundreds
of Boy Scouts received the religious awards they had earned from
Archbishop John J. Myers after the celebration of Mass in the Cathedral
Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Sunday, Feb. 3.
The
Archbishop thanked the priests who work with the Scouting movement,
the adult scout leaders, parents for their commitment; and he
congratulated the boys who had earned the awards. He thanked all
of the Scouts for pursuing the high ideals of the
Boy Scout program in preparation for an upright adult
life. We need the gifts and support of others, he
said; but he reminded the Scouts that it is God who must be thanked
for whatever they achieve.

Pray,
stay together
BY
ROBERT DYLAK
By
reason of their state in life and of their order, (Christian spouses)
have their own special gifts in the People of God. This grace
proper to the sacrament of Matrimony is intended to perfect the
couples love and to strengthen their indissoluble unity. By
this grace they help one another to attain holiness in their
married life and in welcoming and educating their children.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church #1641)
