Courageous leadership of archbishop praised

Your Grace ,
Thank you most sincerely for your courageous and faithful leadership that was most evident in your recent statement regarding the awards ceremony at Seton Hall Law School.

It must not have been an easy task to publicly admonish one of your own institutions. Hopefully steps will be taken to clarify the criteria used to examine the personal integrity displayed by one deemed worthy of honor from a Catholic institution.

Please be assured of my continued prayers for you as you faithfully shepherd our Archdiocese and for the realization of the Gospel of life.

'Wonderful statement'
Editor,
Please express to Archbishop John J. Myers my deep appreciation for his wonderful statement regarding his disapproval of the awarding of the Sandra Day O’Connor Medal of Honor to Judge Maryanne Trump Barry at Seton Hall Law School.

I nearly jumped for joy as I read the Archbishop’s statement on the front page of the April 21 edition of The Catholic Advocate.

It is so inspiring to have a shepherd like Archbishop Myers who boldly proclaims the Gospel of life in season and out of season. His leadership is exemplary, and we love him!

Thank you for communicating my gratitude to Archbishop Myers for his courageous stance on pro-life issues.
