Stewardship
Way of Life requires us to share our treasure
By
Angelo Zito
The
Three Ts Time, Talent, and Treasure generally define the components
of the Stewardship Way of Life. The third T, The Treasure aspect,
seems to be the area of Stewardship that is the most misunderstood
and sometimes the most challenging. So lets take a closer
look at what this T should mean to us, and how we as Catholic Christian
Stewards are to incorporate it into our lives.
The
Catechism of the Catholic Church in paragraph 2043 teaches:The
faithful have the duty of providing for the material needs of the
church, each according to his abilities. So it is very clear
that we as Catholic Christians certainly have a responsibility to
provide the means necessary for the church to perform her mission.
Now for our motivation to be at its optimum level, and for us to
give as faithful stewards, I think we need to have a clear understanding
of what that mission is particularly in our local church
of Newark.
