Eucharistic focus at the core of Christian
commitment

By Andrew Kaczynski
Inspired by the Holy Father’s recent encyclical letter, Ecclesia De Eucharistia, on the Eucharist and its relationship to the Church, I felt it timely to write on how the Eucharist and stewardship relate to one another.

In the encyclical Pope John Paul II writes, “The Church draws her life from the Eucharist. Claims of unresponsiveness to abuse allegations
disregard the facts

Claims by Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) that the Archdiocese of Newark and Archbishop John J. Myers have not been responsive to allegations of abuse and that the Archdiocese has not acted on the allegations “clearly and maliciously disregard the facts and history of the Archdiocese’s procedures for handling such claims,” according to James Goodness, Director of Communications and Public Relations for the Archdiocese.

Review board
Goodness issued a statement June 6 in response to “erroneous statements” made by Mark Serrano, a SNAP board member at a new conference the previous day.

Falcons' Randolph draft pick of the Bronx Bombers
Andre Randolph
As a New York Yankees draft pick, Felician College baseball player Andre Randolph will have a chance to follow in the footsteps of his father, Yankees baseball legend Willie Randolph. Among 50 players drafted to the Yankees this week, Randolph has left for Tampa and expects to be placed on a minor league team there or on Staten Island.

As a second baseman on Felician College’s baseball team, the Golden Falcons, Randolph, a senior classman, received Honorable Mention in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and “had a great year,” says head baseball coach Steve Svenson. He was the team’s lead-off hitter and finished the season batting 360 for the year with eight doubles, 15 RBIs, 40 hits and 13 stolen bases.
