As I have written so many times, the Stewardship Way of Life
is not a program or a one-time effort. For Christians, it
is a life-long commitment. This is true because all that we
have—our time, the gift of life itself, our talent,
the abilities we have been blessed with and our treasure,
the money we earn by using our time and our talent—are
gifts from our Lord. It takes conversion—a change of
heart—and continuous education for the faithful to truly
accept stewardship as a way of life.

Family welcomes ninth pastor

A joyous Eucharistic celebration heralded
the installation of Msgr. Paul L. Bochicchio as the ninth pastor of
Holy Family Parish, Nutley. Most Rev. Arthur J. Serratelli, in his
role as Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia of the Archdiocese
of Newark and a longtime weekday associate at the church, was the
presiding celebrant of the Mass.

Archbishop
signs beatification cause

In
an historic ceremony last Thursday at the Cathedral Basilica
of the Sacred Heart, Newark, Archbishop John J. Myers signed
documentation papers for the beatification cause of a Bayonne
native, the late Sister Miriam Teresa, S.C. Looking on, left
to right, are Sister Maureen Shaughnessy, Superior General
of the Sisters of Charity; Dr. Mary Mazzarella, the medical
investigator; Father James Sheehan, a member of the beatification
tribunal, and Sister Marian Jose Smith, vice postulate for
