Welcome Aboard! Ronald J. Mount, left of Short Hills has been elected as the president of the Board of Trustees of The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children. He is seen with Kevin P. Prior to establishing his own firm, Mount was vice president of W.R. Grace & Co. and vice president of Degoode - Newark Realty.

Mount is a member of the Milburn Board of Education, director and president of the Warren County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and director and chairman of the Metropolitan Chapter of the American Heart Association.

“This organization has an incredible Board of Trustees that is dedicated to helping underprivileged children. It is an honor to head it up and to be associated with such wonderful people,” Mount said about the appointment.

Collins is a retired Managing Director and Operating Committee member of the First Boston Corporation. A Trustee Emeritus of Rutgers University, he chaired each of the Rutgers governing boards, as well as major capital campaigns for the University.

Collins’ experience in higher education includes serving on the alumni boards of Holy Cross College, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as lecturing at Princeton, Harvard, and New York universities. Other activities include service with numerous corporate and professional organizations, such as the Liaison Committee of the American Bar Association and the Securities Industry Association.

Collins’ recent activities include chairman of the Capital Campaign at St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, as well as serving on the Board of Advisors at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale and Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell. Collins is a member of the New Jersey State Commission on Higher Education, and a member of the N.J. Equal Opportunities Foundation.

“New Jersey and the Archdiocese of Newark have played an integral part in my life. Consequently, I consider it and honor and privilege to serve in this capacity,” Collins said of the appointment to the board.

Fitzpatrick has deep roots in New Jersey. Prior to working at Mack-Cali, Fitzpatrick was employed by the Prudential Insurance Company of America in Newark. He holds a B.S. degree from Cook College and a M.S. degree in Economics from Rutgers University.

“I can’t think of more important work in our Archdiocese than helping needy children obtain a quality education,” Fitzpatrick noted about the appointment.
