following pastoral letters and statements have been issued by the Most
Reverend John Joseph Myers, Archbishop of Newark, since he assumed the
ministry of Ordinary of the Archdiocese of Newark in 2001. Pastoral
letters are a means for bishops to instruct those in their dioceses
in aspects of Catholic teachings, worship, or social concerns.
