A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 11 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, for Sister Alma Virginia Maloney, S.C., 78, who died on Aug. 7.

A member of the Sisters of Charity for 59 years, she received her bachelor’s degree in education at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station.

Her assignments in the archdiocese included: Saint Anne School, Jersey City (1951-1959), Our Lady Help of Christians School, East Orange (1962-1964), Sacred Heart School, Jersey City (1964-1965) and the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Hoboken (1976-1995).
