A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Jersey City, for Rev. Harold J. Oppido, S.J., who died Oct. 2.
 
Fr. Oppido was ordained in 1955 and taught in his native Brooklyn, NY. In 1972, he came to the archdiocese and served for 35 years as a teacher and counselor at Saint Peter Peter’s Preparatory School, Jersey City.
 
He taught Latin and Greek, designed the Latin Intro to Modern Language class and served as chair of the classics department for many years.
