A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 12 at Saint Lucy Chapel, Villa Walsh, Morristown, for Sister Tomasina Moffo, M.P.F., 92, who died Oct. 6.
She entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1932, received the habit in 1933 and made her religious profession in 1936.
She graduated from Catholic Teachers College, Providence, RI, and earned her master’s degree from Fairfield University, CT, in guidance and administration.
Sister Tomasina taught the lower, middle and upper grades in Connecticut, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and New Jersey. Her assignments in the archdiocese included: Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Bayonne; Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Elizabeth; Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish, Garfield; Holy Rosary Parish, Jersey City; Holy Family Parish, Nutley; St. Rocco School, Union City and Our Lady of Libera School, West New York.
