Sister Margaret Maureen Hoffman, S.C.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 14 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, for Sister Margaret Maureen Hoffman, S.C., 92, who died Oct. 11.
 
A native of Weehawken, Sr. Margaret Maureen entered the Sisters of Charity on March 25, 1934, and was a member for 75 years. She was an educator in New Jersey and Florida. 
 
Her assignments in the archdiocese included: Saint Michael School, Union City (1935-1939); Saint Mary High School, Jersey City, principal (1966-1969); East Orange Catholic High School, East Orange, guidance counselor and director (1969-1980); Saint Mary Parish Dumont, associate director of religious studies (1980-1987), director of religious education (1987-1991), and parish catechetical leader (1991-1998).
 
Sr. Margaret Maureen served as administrator at Mother Seton Residence, Montclair, from 1998-2001 and part time ministry to the elderly from 2001-2008.
