A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 16 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, for Sister Teresa Hart, S.C., 92, who died Nov. 13.
Sr. Mary Teresa entered the Sisters of Charity Sept. 8, 1934, and was a member for 75 years. She attended the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, and received her master’s degree in administration and supervision form Seton Hall University, South Orange.
Sr. Mary Teresa was an educator in New Jersey and Massachusetts. Her assignments in the archdiocese included: Sacred Heart Parish, Rochelle Park (1936-1942); Saint Mary Orphanage, Newark (1942-1947); Saint Paul of the Cross Parish, Jersey City (1947-1949); Saint Mary School, Dumont (1951-1955); Saint Teresa Parish, Summit (1961-1963); Holy Trinity Parish, Hackensack (1971-1989); Our Lady of the Visitation School, Paramus (1989-1995).
She served as principal of Immaculate Conception School, Elizabeth (1955-1961) and Saint Catharine School, Glen Rock (1963-1969).
