Archbishop's Letter - Most Reverend John J. Myers

My Dear Brothers in Christ,

Again I am delighted to welcome you today to this most special day of worship, testimony, discovery, fellowship, and grace – our second Catholic Men’s Conference.

We gather today in faith, in commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in commitment to serving Him and His Church – a community of men eager and willing to find a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ.    The speakers, workshops and interaction for the day are designed especially to meet your needs, and to help shape your roles in families, in the Church, and in a society sorely in need of Champions of Faith -- men of God and men for others as role models.

It is my hope that those of you who are joining us after attending last year’s Conference will gain further strength to meet the challenges of discipleship in our modern world.  For those of you who are joining us for the first time, may you find through this close and joyous interaction at the Conference a new perspective on your personal discipleship and journey with Christ, and fulfillment of the words of Proverbs 27:17 --  “As Iron Sharpens Iron, So One Man Sharpens Another.”

With every good wish, I remain

XMost Reverend John J. Myers
