Couples Mark Silver and Gold Wedding Anniversaries The Archdiocese of Newark will hold its annual Mass for Catholic couples married five, 25 and 50 years. All Masses will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge St., Newark. The Mass for Essex and Union couples celebrating their Golden Anniversary will be held at 2:15 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2000. Bergen and Hudson County couples will celebrate their Golden Anniversary on Sunday, May 7, 2000, 2:15 p.m. Couples in all four counties of the Archdiocese will celebrate Silver and Fifth Anniversaries at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2000. Archbishop Theodore E. McCarrick will bless the rings of the married couples during the Masses. The archdiocese will also present couples with personalized certificates commemorating their anniversaries and they can request Papal Blessings through their parish.
