Obispo Bootkoski Ordenará 13 Sacerdotes Nuevos
El
Reverendo Paul G. Bootkoski, VG, Administrador de Newark, ordenará
trece hombres al sacerdocio el sábado, 26 de mayo, 2001,
a las 10 de la mañana, en la Catedral Basílica del
Sagrado Corazón, 89 Ridge St., Newark. Según la Conferencia
Católica de los Estados Unidos, la Arquidiócesis de
Newark tiene una de las clases de ordenación más grande
del País.
Nueve
de los que serán ordenados asistieron al Seminario de la
Concepción Inmaculada en la Universidad de Seton Hall en
South Orange. Cuatro asistieron a Redemptoris Mater, el Seminario
misionero de la Arquidiócesis de Newark, en Kearny, que es
el centro de formación para muchos de los seminaristas de
países extranjeros.
De
trece hombres que serán ordenados en la Arquidiócesis
de Newark este año, nueve nacieron en países extranjeros.
Sus países de nacimiento incluyen a Canada, Korea, Nicaragua,
las Filipinas, España, Trinidad y Tobago, y Vietnam, y su
diversidad refleja la diversidad étnica y nacional de los
cuatro condados de la Arquidiócesis - Bergen, Essex, Hudson
y Union.

Father Abalon, 43, son of Jose D. and Remedios M. Abalon, was born
in Minito, Albay, The Philippines. Before entering Redemptoris Mater
Seminary, he graduated from Bicol University, College of Agriculture
in 1981. He will celebrate his first Mass at Holy Trinity, Hackensack,
Sunday, May 27, 2001 at 12:30 p.m.
Larry
Evans, II
Father Evans, 39, son of Larry, Sr. and Laura Evans, was born in
Washington, D.C. He graduated from Fordham University with a B.A.
in sociology before entering Immaculate Conception Seminary. He
will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday, May 27, 2001, at 11:15
a.m., at St. Joseph, Maplewood.
Octavio
Gonzalez
Octavio Gonzalez, 33, son of Octavio and Elba Gonzalez, was
born in Nicaragua. He attended Redemptorist Mater Seminary and earned
a BA in Humanities from Thomas Edison College. He will celebrate
his first Mass on May 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Joseph and Michael
Church in Union City.
Bruce
Harger
Father Harger, 47, son of Clyde J. and Myrta Mae Harger, was born
in Ft. Benning, Georgia. Before entering Immaculate Conception Seminary,
he received his B.A. in Music and a Masters in Library Science.
He will celebrate his first Mass at Holy Family, Nutley, on Sunday,
May 27, 2001 at 12 noon.
Marty
B. Jacinto
Father Jacinto, 33, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perfecto L. Jacinto, was
born in Roxas City, Capiz, The Philippines. He received a degree
in Philosophy from St. John Lateran University in Rome, and a M.A.
in Theology from Instituto Teologico Di San Paola in Catania, Sicily
before entering Immaculate Conception Seminary. He will celebrate
his first Mass on Saturday, May 26, 2001, at 5:30 p.m., at St. Vincent
DePaul, Bayonne.
Edgardo
Papica Jocson
Father Jocson, 26, son of Querubin F. and Emiliana Hilda P. Jocson,
was born in Manila, The Philippines. Before entering Immaculate
Conception Seminary, he went to Adamson University in Manila and
St. Vincent School of Theology in Quezon City, Philippines. He will
celebrate his first Mass at St. AedanŐs, Jersey City, on Sunday,
May 27, 2001, at 5:30 p.m.
Edward
George Klybus
Father Klybus, 35, son of John and Susie Klybus, was born in Toronto,
Ontario, Canada. He received a degree in radio broadcasting from
Humber College of Applied Arts & Technology in Toronto, and a degree
in philosophy from Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ before entering
Redemptoris Mater Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass on
Sunday, May 27, 2001, at 12:30 p.m., at Our Lady of the Blessed
Sacrament, Roseland.
Joseph
A. Mancini
Father Manicini, 27, son of Nicholas and Mary Ann Mancini, was born
in Elizabeth, NJ. Before entering Immaculate Conception Seminary,
he earned his B.A. in history from Kean University in Union, NJ.
He will celebrate his first Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption,
Elizabeth, on Sunday, May 27, 2001, at 3 p.m.
Oscar
Martin
Father Martin, 31, son of Miguel Angel and Maria Teresa Martin,
was born in Malaga, Spain. He received a B.A. in Humanities from
Thomas Edison State College, Trenton before entering Redemptoris
Mater Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday, May
27, 2001, at 12 noon, at St. AnnŐs, Jersey City.
Nigel
Mohammed
Father Mohammed, 33, son of Rose Janneire and Bede Mohammed, was
born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. Before entering Immaculate
Conception Seminary, he attended the College of Immaculate Conception
in Port-of-Spain. He will celebrate his first Mass at Immaculate
Conception, Montclair, on Sunday, May 27, 2001 at 12:15 p.m.
Hongshik
Don Bosco Park
Father Park, 36, son of Tae Sung and Jung Ja Park, was born in Seoul,
Korea. After completing his studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary,
he went on to earn his Bachelor of Sacred Theology from the Pontifical
Gregorian University in Rome. He is currently enrolled in the licentiate
program in moral theology at the Academia Alfonsiana in Rome. He
will celebrate his first Mass in Korean on Sunday, May 27, 2001,
at 11:30 a.m., at St. Andrew Kim, Orange. He will celebrate his
first Mass in English at Queen of Peace, North Arlington, on Sunday,
June 2, 2001, at 5:30 p.m.
Luke
Duc Tran
Father Tran, 44, son of Phuoc Tran and Con Thai, was born in Bonh
Duong, Vietnam. Before entering Immaculate Conception Seminary,
he received a B.S. in computer science from Jersey City State College,
Jersey City, NJ. He will celebrate his first Mass on Sunday, May
27, 2001, at 5:30 p.m., at St. Joseph, Oradell.
James
Anthony Worth
Father Worth, 36, son of Renea Toscano and Melvin Worth, was born
in Atlantic City, NJ. He attended Seton Hall University before entering
Immaculate Conception Seminary. He will celebrate his first Mass
at St. James, Springfield, on Sunday, May 27, 2001, at 7 p.m.
