NY Giant Tiki Barber to be Honored by the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry
The Office of CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministries announces the 12th Annual Golf Tournament and Tennis Classic. The event raises funds to support the agency's activities with young people throughout the Archdiocese of Newark four counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union, while honoring a great role model for today’s Catholic youth.

NY Giants Halfback Tiki Barber, #21, will be honored at the tournament. “Each year we honor a NY Football Giants player, not only for his great athleticism, but also for his service to youth. Tiki has been a great role model and inspiration for young people,” explains Rev. Richard Corbett, Executive Director of the Office of CYO Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

The event will take place on Monday, May 20, at the Edgewood Country Club, 449 Rivervale Rd, River Vale, NJ. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with tee-off time beginning promptly at 11 a.m. The day will conclude with a dinner, followed by a celebrity sports auction.

Past honorees include: Greg Comella (2001), Chris Godfrey & Charles Way (2000), Roman Oben (1999), Mark Bavaro (1998), Howard Cross (1997), John "Jumbo" Elliott (1996), Phil Simms & Dave Brown (1995), Bart Oates (1994), George Martin (1993), Phil Simms (1992) and Lawrence Taylor (1991.) The first tournament in 1990 celebrated CYO’s 50th anniversary in the Archdiocese.

Corporations are also welcome to help sponsor the event. For more information, contact the Office of CYO Youth and Young Adult Ministries at (973) 497-4512
