Acclaimed Concert Organist Anthony Newman Performs at the Cathedral Basilica

Internationally acclaimed concert organist Anthony Newman, will perform at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge St., Newark, on Sunday May 20, 2001, at 4pm in the final offering of the 2000- 01 Cathedral Concert Series.

For over twenty-six years, Anthony Newman has been in the public eye as one of America's leading organists, harpsichordists and Bach specialists, and been described as "the high priest of Bach" by Time magazine. Mr. Newman has been a guest conductor with many of the world's leading chamber orchestras, including the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the New York Chamber Symphony, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. His series of appearances conducting numerous symphonic orchestras from coast to coast confirms his position at the forefront of a Baroque and Classical specialist.
