Catholic Young Adults to Celebrate Faith at Annual Mass and Barbecue The Annual Young Adult Mass and Barbecue, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Newark Office of Young Adult Ministry, will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2000. Catholic men and women in their 20's and 30's, are invited to attend the celebration at the Church of the Presentation, 271 W. Saddle River Rd, Upper Saddle River. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by a Mass at 1 p.m., celebrated by Archbishop Theodore E. McCarrick. The Mass will also feature the Power Choir, a group of talented young adult musicians who lead charismatic praise and worship through liturgical music and the use of a variety of instruments. After the Mass, attendees can enjoy the afternoon with a catered barbecue. Entertainment for the afternoon will include the Christian rock band, the Rock Flowers, a DJ, caricature portraits and a variety of games. Director of Young Adult Ministry Joanne DePasquale Parent said, "Each year this celebration gives us the opportunity to gather as a community of Catholic young adults to share faith, connect with friends, meet new people, and have a great time. This event keeps on getting better and better, and as the first young adult Mass and barbecue of the new millennium, this is sure to be the best one yet!" The registration fee is $15, before July 10, and $20 after. For more information or to register, please contact the Office of Young Adult Ministry at (973) 497-4512.
