Catholic Young Adults to Celebrate Faith at Annual Mass and Barbecue
The Annual Young Adult Mass and Barbecue, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Newark Office of Young Adult Ministry, will be held Sunday, August 5, 2001. Catholic men and women in their 20’s and 30’s are invited to attend the celebration at St. Helen’s Parish, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield.

Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Mass celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Louis Fimiani, Vicar for Pastoral Life, at 2 p.m. The Mass will also feature the Power Choir, a group of talented young adult musicians who lead charismatic praise and worship through liturgical music and the use of a variety of instruments.

After the Mass, attendees can enjoy the afternoon with a catered barbecue, DJ provided music and a variety of games. Laurie Cagno, a local New Jersey musician, and her band will perform live music throughout the afternoon.

Director of Young Adult Ministry Joanne DePasquale Parent said, "Each year this celebration gives us the opportunity to gather as a community of Catholic young adults to share faith, connect with friends, meet new people, and have a great time. This event just keeps on getting better and better!"

The registration fee is $15, before July 21, and $20 after. For more information or to register, please contact the Office of Young Adult Ministry at (973) 497-4512.
