The Most Rev. John J. Myers, J.C.D., D.D. will be officially installed as the Archbishop of Newark on Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge St, Newark. The official installation ceremony will take place on October 9 at the Cathedral Basilica during the Mass of Installation. The Mass will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the procession consisting of two Cardinals, 42 Bishops, and some 200 priests and deacons from the Archdiocese of Newark, Diocese of Peoria and other dioceses. During the Mass, Archbishop Gabriel Montalvo, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, will read the Vatican mandate naming Archbishop Myers as the Archbishop of Newark.
