by Archbishop Theodore E. McCarrick, Archbishop of Newark, "I am immensely saddened by the FDA's approval of this controversial method to deliver death chemically, and thus deny to unborn babies the sacred gift of life. "I am also bewildered that the agency refused to accept much well documented testimony about the complications that this drug can inflict on the women who may use it. "Those of us who believe that God is the only Lord of life will continue in our quest to return our country to the values on which it was founded, despite decisions such as this which are so harmful to human life."
