Calls on Community For Aid And Prayers Archbishop Theodore E. McCarrick has authorized an emergency voluntary collection to be taken at all Catholic parishes in the Newark Archdiocese to assist in relief services in the aftermath of the violence and terror that erupted in East Timor, and the devastating earthquake in Taiwan in September. The collection can be taken during Masses scheduled over either the October 9-10 or October 16-17 weekends. The Archbishop also asked that the victims of this disaster be remembered in the General Intercessions at Mass.
