ADVISORY:
Cardinal
of Sarajevo to Visist Archdiocese, Meet with Media
Vinko Cardinal
Puljic, Archbishop of Sarajevo will be available to the media at
1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 1998, at the Archdiocesan Center,
located at 171 Clifton Avenue in Newark, NJ.
The Cardinal
will answer questions about the constantly changing political and
military tensions in the former Yugoslav Republic. His first-hand
experiences allow for a clear-cut picture of the situation in that
region. Members of the media will have an opportunity to speak with
the Cardinal about such issues.
Sarajevo
is the seat of the largest Roman Catholic diocese in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Cardinal Puljic was consecrated archbishop in January 1991 and was
elevated to the College of Cardinals in November, 1994. At 53, he
is the youngest of the Cardinals, and the first from Bosnia.
