Archdiocese
of Newark Celebrates Televised Christmas Mass
The Most
Reverend Theodore E. McCarrick, Archbishop of the Newark, will be
the celebrant on the one-hour televised Christmas Mass that will
air at 10:00 a.m. on Christmas Day on WWOR-Channel 9.
The Mass
will be viewed by homebound and hospitalized Catholics as well as
millions of viewers from throughout the greater New York / New Jersey
area.
Rev.
Thomas Iwanowski, Associate Director of the Office of Worship for
the Archdiocese of Newark, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies,
and Rev. Mr. Alfonso Picon, of Redemptoris Mater Seminary will act
as Deacon to the Bishop.
The choir
and organist of St. JamesŐ Church, Springfield, will provide music
for the celebration, under the direction of Janet Natale, who will
also act as Cantor. The organist will be Ada Simpson and the Psalmist
will be Daria Dragan.
Friends
and family members of the St. James Choir will be the studio congregation.
Lectors will be Marie Anne Branco and Norman Jackowski.
The
Christmas Mass is a public service production of WWOR-TV in cooperation
with the Archdiocese of Newark.
