Archdiocese of Newark to Host Lecture Series on Justice and Peace
The Office of Black Catholic Affairs of the Archdiocese of Newark and the Benedictine Monks of Newark Abbey are co-sponsoring a series of lectures entitled "Letting Justice Roll, Christ's Vision and Today's World."

"Letting Justice Roll," is a three-part series featuring experts in the areas of Social Justice, Child Welfare and Justice and Peace. Ms. Kay Furlani, Director of the Department of Human Concerns in the Archdiocese of Newark will be the presenter for the Social Justice lecture and Ms. Mildred Crews, Newark Family Resources Network will be the presenters for the Child Welfare Legislation discussion. The third discussion will address Peace and Justice issues.

All presentations will be held at St. Benedict's Prep School Cafeteria, 520 Dr. M1artin Luther King Blvd., Newark on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. beginning on April 29th, 2003 and the next consecutive two weeks (May 6th and May 13th). Begun in 1998, the annual Bishop Joseph Francis Memorial Lectures are named in honor of the deceased Auxiliary Bishop of Newark who champinoed the cause of racial harmony and social justice. Past series have included topics such as racism, the changing role of women, understanding Islam, and the role of the churches in the African American community.
