CYO Summer Day Camp Begins June 30
CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Newark will again offer its annual Summer Day Camp Program. Beginning June 30, camp runs in weekly sessions for seven weeks until August 15. The program includes a Kinder Camp for children ages 4- 5, and a Traditional Camp for children 6- 12, and will be at the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center, 499 Belgrove Dr., Kearny.

At $89 per child a week, camp includes lunch, swimming and a variety of activities throughout each day. Children in the Traditional Camp create their schedules by choosing from a variety of activities, sports, games, arts and crafts and computer choices offered each week.

The camp day runs from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., and children may be dropped off at the camp starting at 8:30 a.m. There is a free after-camp program from 3 - 5 p.m. for children ages 6 - 12. Transportation is available from local churches to the Camp at an additional cost.

The Archdiocesan CYO Summer Camp employs experienced and sensitive staff to meet the needs of the diverse young people in the four counties – Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union – of the Archdiocese. The staff includes college students and professionals such as local teachers and youth ministers with backgrounds in day care, recreation and youth. Many staff members return each year. The staff’s diversity and consistency provide a great atmosphere for a variety of educational and social experiences.
