Statement of Bishop-Elect John W. Flesey I humbly accept my appointment as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Newark, this local Church that it has been both a privilege and a joy to serve for 35 years. I am deeply grateful to His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, for placing this confidence in me. I will be honored to be working with Archbishop Myers as he leads this grace-filled Archdiocese in challenging times. I pray that the “Lord Who has done this great work in me will bring it to completion.”
