Election of a New Pope - Media Advisory

In the days leading to the Conclave at the Vatican , two special Masses will be taking place with the special intention of the Election of a Pope.

DATE AND TIME: Sunday, April 17 at 3 p.m. ,
CELEBRANT: The Most Reverend John Myers, Archbishop of Newark ,
LOCATION: The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, corner of Clifton and Victoria Avenues in Newark .

At this mass, married couples from throughout the Archdiocese celebrating their 25 th or 50 th wedding anniversaries will be in attendance.

DATE AND TIME: Monday, April 18 at 12 noon
CELEBRANT: The Most Reverend Thomas Donato, Auxiliary Bishop of Newark and Regional Bishop of Hudson County
LOCATION: The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, corner of Clifton and Victoria Avenues in Newark .

Monday is the opening day of the Conclave.

The media is welcome to attend these two special Masses as the people of the Archdiocese of Newark pray for the Holy Spirit to provide wisdom, strength and courage to the Cardinals of the Catholic Church who gather to select the next Pope.
