Morning Of Healing for Perinatal Loss

This Morning of Healing is being given to support families who have experienced the loss of a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth or other perinatal loss. Perinatal loss involves emotional, relational and spiritual suffering that requires assistance from family, friends and church leaders. It touches the lives of many people yet all too often this tragedy remains unspoken of.  We hope this day will provide those who have been affected, a day to recognize their loss, to grieve with the support of others, gain knowledge about the process of grief and obtain related resources. Presentations will be given as well as, small group discussions. There will be time for prayer during a memorial service and parents will have an opportunity to name their child, if they desire so. This simple yet profound action is a concrete way of affirming that this life was and is a unique person. Most of all, we pray that those affected by this heartbreak will discover healing and hope.

Babysitting, lunch and refreshments will be provided at no cost. Online registration:

RETROUVAILLE Ministry for Troubled Marriages

The Retrouvaille Program helps couples struggling in their marriage to put the pieces of their marriage back together and rebuild loving relationships. It is a Christian program, Catholic in origin, and couples of all faiths or no faith background are encouraged to attend. It is primarily a practical program about improving communication, building a stronger marriage, and helping couples rediscover the love they had for each other. This program is currently being offered in the Diocese of Metuchen and will be held next in February. See the website for more details:

Next retreat: February 2018

Annual Liturgy for Parents Who Lost a Child

There is no loss like that of one's child. Parents whose children have died will experience grief that is harder, longer and more complicated than other bereaved people. In an effort to offer another step in the ongoing process of healing, the Family Life Office plans a Eucharistic Liturgy each spring for those whose children have died. A personal witness is offered as the name of each child is read during the liturgy.

This Mass is offered annually on the Friday evening before Mother's Day.
