16 School closes for students if 180 Instructional Days have been provided

This calendar reflects 188 days. Eight (8) days must be chosen by the local school and should include three (3) snowdays/five (5) holidays, and any professional days that exceed the three (3) already factored in as instructional days. Please adjust the closing date if necessary. Half days should be four (4) instructional hours. Most schools usually take the Tuesday after Labor Day as a professional day.

Summary: 180 instructional days include three (3) professional days -- faculty attend, but students do not attend. In-service dates and programs will be published at a later date. Changes to the calendar, after it has been submitted, should be reported to the Superintendent of Schools Office in writing.

Revised: 9/7/10
