Marist High School, a Catholic, coed, college preparatory school located in Bayonne, NJ, will celebrate its 14th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, November 17th at 5:30pm in the Marist Gym. Each year, Marist High School honors members of the Marist Community for their extraordinary accomplishments by awarding the following awards: Spirit of Marist, Professional Achievement, Distinguished Service, Athletic Achievement and Team Achievement.

On October 2, faith leaders, clergy, advocates and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients will participate in a Jericho Walk in front of the Peter Rodino Federal Building in a march for the rights and dignity of all TPS recipients. Julia Guthrie, a teacher at Notre Dame Academy in Palisades Park, NJ, is the recipient of the New Jersey Nonpublic School Teacher of the Year Award for 2018 in a competition sponsored by the New Jersey Council for American Private Education (NJCAPE). This annual award will be presented on Tuesday, October 9, at a ceremony scheduled for noon at the N.J. Department of Education in Trenton.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced the 349 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2018. Among those schools three from the Archdiocese of Newark were recognized as, “Exemplary High Performing Schools”: Christ the Teacher School in Fort Lee, Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Park Ridge, and Transfiguration Academy in Bergenfield. The award is based on overall academic excellence.
