We Are Living Stones: Campaign Status Report

The historic We Are Living Stones Capital Campaign continues to experience great success within the Archdiocese of Newark, with over $72,000,000 raised in pledges from over 200 parishes. The generosity of parishioners from across the Archdiocese is ensuring that our Church is able to care for the less fortunate in our communities, preach the good news of the Gospel more vibrantly, and provide a strong foundation for generations to come.

The We Are Living Stone Campaign is essentially a parish-based campaign, with over 50% of all funds, after the Works of Mercy tithe, going directly to parishes.  Parishes throughout the Archdiocese are seeing the fruits of the generosity of their parishioners as distributions continue to take place.  To date, nearly $4.5 million have been directly distributed to parishes to meet the needs outlines in their case statements.  For St. Michael Parish in Cranford, this has allowed them to improve their sound system and install a listening device for the hearing impaired.  For Our lady of Mount Carmel in Newark, this meant replacing their Church air conditioning unit.  And for St. Genevieve Parish in Elizabeth, this allowed them to implement new Scripture courses at their parish, which has already hosted two successful events.

We invite you to click here to read a letter from Peter Furka, a representative of the WALS Review Committee; along with a copy of the most recent Campaign Report.

Please continue to pray for the success of the We Are Living Stone Capital Campaign and encourage your fellow parishioners support this important initiative!
