Archbishop Myers to Celebrate Ash Wednesday at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral

Newark Archbishop John J. Myers will mark the start of Lent in the Archdiocese on Ash Wednesday, February 10, by celebrating Mass and distributing ashes at the 12:15 p.m. Mass at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral in downtown Newark. St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in New Jersey.

Archdiocese Debuts Video on Meaningful Church Rituals at Time of Death

The Archdiocese of Newark has introduced a short video highlighting the significance of the Church’s funeral rituals to help Catholics during one of the most difficult and often confusing times in life -- the death of a loved one. “Many Travelers, One Journey” serves as a guide for the three principal parts of the Catholic funeral liturgy – the Vigil, Funeral Mass and Committal Service – known as the Order of Christian Funerals.
