Year of Consecrated Life Celebration
Although many celebrations for the Year of Consecrated Life took place in the Archdiocese of Newark, our main celebration took place on October 17, 2015. We were priviledged to have the relics of St. Thérèse (The Little Flower) and her parents present. We started the day with a talk entitled: "Sts Zelie and Louis Martin, spiritual directors of a saint" by Rev. Frederick Miller S.T.D. After a time of veneration of the relics, Holy Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral Basilica. The Cathedral was filled with Religious, priests and lay-faithful. After Holy Mass, the men and women in Consecrated Life joined for lunch in the Archdiocesan Center. The program for them then continued with a talk by Most Reverend Archbishop Hebda, then Archbishop Co-adjutor for the Archdiocese. He shared with us on the first letter that was issued for the Year of Consecrated Life entitled: "Rejoice". Around 3:00 p.m. the day ended with a closing prayer. Here above you may view some of the pictures of that day.
